Des Moines needs housing. We need to make it easier and more affordable to build housing in walkable, transit oriented neighborhoods in Des Moines.
A dedicated funding source to ensure a robust and reliable public transportation system
Public Transportation is a core element to building an accessible, equitable and sustainable community. Des Moines needs reliable funding for public transit.
Ensuring streets are safe for all users, ages and abilities
We need streets that are safe and accessible for all residents and transportation modes. Proper infrastructure design protects vulnerable users and creates livable spaces for people.
Achieving Momentum
Momentum DSM Central Iowa's urbanist political action committee, advocating for a better, more sustainable Des Moines. We identify and support candidates who are committed to immediate reforms to how we plan, design and build our communities in Central Iowa.
Our members help fund our grass roots activism and advocacy work on these issues. In addition to helping drive change, members will get access to additional content and members-only events later this year as we get going.
We are launching in 2023 with goals to have an immediate impact on the built environment of the Des Moines Metropolitan area, and we hope you will join us in these efforts!
